A MAN has lost his driver’s licence after returning a blood alcohol reading more than six times the legal limit in Beverford on August 15, Friday morning.

Officers intercepted the vehicle after reports of a Nissan Pulsar driving erratically on Murray Valley Highway.

After returning a positive preliminary breath test, the 44-year-old Swan Hill man returned an evidentiary breath test with a reading of 0.318 at the local station.

He was issued an immediate 12-month driving ban and will be charged with exceeding the prescribed content of alcohol while driving.

His car was also impounded for 30 days at a cost of $1525.

Attempted vehicle theft

A RESIDENT was awoken by a loud crash in his backyard on Rutherford Street, Swan Hill, about 4.30am on Monday, August 11, which police believe was an attempted theft of his motor vehicle.

Retail theft

STAFF of a Campbell Street clothing store allege they observed an offender placing something inside a large tote bag at 11:40am Friday, April 4.

When staff asked the offender and their companion to see their bags, one complied while the other only showed the inside for a brief moment before closing the bag.

The offender refused to allow staff a better look in their bag and walked out of the store.

Later, one of the offenders walked into the store and took an item from the from display before running off with it in her hand, making no attempts to pay.

The two alleged offenders are described as Caucasian females about 16-17 years old.

One was described as having blonde hair with brown roots tied in a bun, wearing a black jumper with blue sleeves, black baggy pants, white sneakers and carrying a large cream coloured tote bag.

The other is described as having long dark hair, wearing a black t-shirt and black flared leggings with white sneakers.
