THREE young Swan Hill prospects have been selected to attend the prestigious State Development Program.
The SDP is Basketball Victoria’s underpinning program that identifies athletes who have long term potential to play for Victoria and beyond.
Evie Kelly, Laela Grayling and Lola Patterson’s journey began with selection into the Future Development Program, a pathway and training program that leads to Basketball Victoria’s Gold Nugget Camp.
From this camp athletes are selected into the SDP program.
The girls have been training in Bendigo every Monday night since November.
They join with other athletes who were considered the best around the country under their new head coach Tess Madgen.
The girls also attend weekly shooting sessions in their local hub (Swan Hill) with head coach Sharon Denham.
These athletes are required to attend multiple SDP camps throughout the year with the All State SDP camp being held this weekend in Bendigo where all country and metro SDP athletes come together to train and compete with a professional future at stake.
