STRATHFIELDSAYE trainer Julie Douglas was the big winner at Swan Hill on Wednesday night when she claimed victory in both first-round heats of the time-honoured Northern Region Championship.

Douglas partnered with leading driver Jack Laugher to win the fifth and sixth events on the card with Rimu Valley and Heathbern Bruce, with the second-round heats to be held at Ouyen on October 2
