THE Central Murray Football Netball League will have a final training run and team meeting tomorrow morning ahead of its twilight clash with Heathcote.
The leagues, ranked 17 and 18 in Victoria, will go head-to -head in a must-win showdown for the CMFNL as it strives to prove its worth in the competition.
Senior coach Hugh Foott and selectors met in Kerang earlier this week and at training in Swan Hill last night as they look to fight back in the Interleague rankings after defeats in recent years.
Foott will coach from the sidelines due to a calf injury, with former Nyah star Rick Coburn to be Foott’s counterpart, also in a non-playing capacity.
Foott said versatility would be the key to the CMFNL’s chances.
“We’ve got a good mix of talls and smalls, and ball winners and goal kickers,” Foott said.
Foott said support from the CMFNL community had seen the league take big strides forward in recent years.
“I think it’s a fair call [that the clubs have supported Interleague],” he said.
