LIAM Shadbolt is once again a national champion, after winning the under-16 boys high jump gold medal in a "nerve-wracking" jump-off.

The 14-year-old from Beverford claimed the gold after clearing 1.97m in a jump-off against NSW's Michael Kurt in wet conditions at the Australian Track and Field Championships, at Sydney's Olympic Park last Saturday.
