Swimmers making waves

THE best junior swimmers in the region showcased their talents in Swan Hill last Sunday.

In the largest attended swimming event in central Victoria since the pandemic, 197 children competed in the Central Victoria Swimming All Junior Qualifying Meet at the Swan Hill Outdoor Pool.

The top eight from each race progressed through to the semi-finals at Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre in a fortnight.

Locals will be well represented in the semis, with 24 of 37 competitors from Nyah Two Bays Swan Hill Swimming Club competing on Sunday morning, progressing through to the next stage.

It has been a big month for swimming in Swan Hill, with the school regionals meet scheduled to be hosted in Swan Hill on March 14.
