Table Tennis Notes

SWAN Hill A Grade Table Tennis has gotten to a very interesting stage, with two rounds to go, any of the seven sides can finish in the Beck Legal finals.

Second placed Violi Financé defeated top of the table Bakker & Glen, 6/5 and came down to the last match of the night where Stefan Mangiameli out played a nervous Paul Johnson.

The last point of the night was very anticlimactic, with Johnson serving the ball straight into the net.

R & J Joinery are finishing the season like a runaway steam train after defeating Stem Building Design 6/5.

For the winning team, Damien Mangiameli and Natalie Whatley continued their consistent form, while John Threadgold could do no more winning his three matches, but just doesn’t have the teammates to go with him.

Another side that has shown massive improvement is Morpeth Farms, which defeated Poole’s Accounting 7/4.

Santosh Gunasekaran is in career best form and his attacking skills will make him a most required player in the September draft.

The only disappointing aspect for Morpeth Farms was the continued form slump of Aaron Threadgold.

He couldn’t even win the toss against his nemesis Max Carroll, with Threadgold maybe needing to get a few tips from Darren Stevenson.

Pizza Kitchen remained on top of the Sharp Fruit B Grade ladder after defeating an undermanned Swan Hill Chemicals 10/1.

Sam Collidge strutted around like Mick Jagger after winning all of his three singles matches, while Advanced Packaging have quietly crept up to second place with Tony Tom and Neil Williams both winning two singles matches.

Chaz Talboys remains undefeated in all singles competitions, but his PDF Accounting team went down 7/4.

Syd Wilson Auto Electrics defeated Swan Hill Windscreens 8/3, with son Luke Burge beating father Kevin Burge, who was lost for words.

In the closest match of the night, Swan Hill District Driver Education snuck home 6/5 against an unfortunate Murray Valley Technology Centre, with super sub Neil Caffery winning all three of his singles matches, which proved decisive despite Doctor Savio winning two matches.
