Be ‘quack’ or you’ll miss chance

THE annual SES Duck Race is must-do event on Swan Hill’s annual calendar and this year, The Guardian in partnership with SES Swan Hill Unit are giving readers the chance to win a lucky duck and take part in the big race.

To be part of the fun, simply scroll through the pages of today’s edition and see how many ducks you can find.

Once you are sure you’ve found them all, head over to The Guardian’s website to enter.

Five lucky winners will each receive a duck entry for the big race held on New Year’s Day at Riverside Park.

The duck race is the only fundraising event for Swan Hill’s SES unit and the money is used to provide valuable support to the community in the event of emergencies, road crashes and natural disasters.

For those not familiar with the event, a ticket entitles the owner to one rubber duck entry out of the 2000 duck line-up.

The ducks are allocated a matching number to the ticket and released at Riverside Park at 1pm where they will compete with the currents and flows of the Murray River in a bid to cross the finish line first.

With the goal of selling all 2,000 ducks, the SES is asking the community to come together and show their support by purchasing a ticket.

To get on board and support the SES, purchase a ticket for a duck from the following places for just $10.

Swan Hill Information Centre, Swan Hill Packaging, Price Line Pharmacy, Swan Hill Disposals, Bakker & Glenn, Swan Hill Fishing & Shooting,

Think Water, Any SES volunteer, Bunnings Swan Hill – Each Sunday between 10am and 1pm, The community hub (outside SportsPower in Campbell Street) each Saturday between 9am and 1pm.
