THE Tooleybuc Manangatang Football Netball Club honoured its proud history over the weekend with a series of reunions and celebrations.
The festivities brought together players and supporters from across generations, creating a vibrant atmosphere filled with nostalgia and community spirit.
Tooleybuc Sporting Club company secretary Tracey Domaile said the weekend kicked off on Friday night with gatherings of former premiership teams.
“The 1965 premiership team met at the pub on Friday night,” Ms Domaile said.
“Meanwhile, the 1985 and 1995 premiership teams gathered at the club to watch replays of their grand final wins on the big screen.”
On Saturday, the team took on Lalbert (now known as the Mallee Eagles) – the same opponent Tooleybuc famously defeated 60 years ago in the 1965 premiership.
The Tooleybuc Football Club, distinct from today’s Tooleybuc-Manangatang team, proudly wore their traditional green and gold heritage jumpers for the occasion.
The day also featured an Auskick match at half-time, involving juniors, including descendants of the 1965 premiership players, adding a touching generational link to the celebration.
A highlight of the afternoon was the raising of the 1965 premiership flag before the senior game.
