MEMBER for Northern Victoria Wendy Lovell is urging the state government to scrap the border permit system for residents travelling between Victoria and New South Wales.

The Liberal MP said that Murray River towns were one community with their corresponding NSW neighbour, and that "the system was just another layer of bureaucracy and burden".
