A HORSE dedicated to raising awareness and funds for Cystic Fibrosis will make her debut tonight in Swan Hill with jockey Harry Coffey on board.
The Swan Hill jockey, who suffers from the disease, has committed to working with three-year-old filly Forsixtyfiveroses, a partnership which will bring 10 per cent of prizemoney won to Cystic Fibrosis Victoria’s 65 Roses fundraising campaign.
Country Racing Victoria (CRV) purchased a 10 per cent stake in the filly at the Inglis VOBIS Gold Yearling Sale in 2015 and committed to donating all prize money from that share to Cystic Fibrosis Victoria’s Hospital Helping Hand program.
Swan Hill trainer Austy Coffey said it was an exciting time for the stables with the much anticipated debut coming at home.
“It means a lot for us, I hope we get a lot out of it and she races for a fair while with everyone having fun,” he told The Guardian.
