Let love bloom

FRANCIS Florist will be fully stocked to meet Valentine’s Day orders, but this year’s plan is to focus on a wide variety of floral choices alongside roses.

Owner Raelene O’Halloran said the choice to focus on additional options stemmed largely from cost to customers and preferred choice.

“We find many people prefer to purchase a flower that is special to them,” she said.

“This could be the flowers they had at their wedding or a first date, and for that reason we are trying to provide a wide variety on Valentine’s Day.

“A combination of roses and natives is a really stunning bouquet and a little cheaper than just roses.”

Roses will still be available, but Mrs O’Halloran suggested pre-ordering as stocks were limited.

Other items the store will be showcasing include candles, soaps, balloons and hampers.

For those wishing to personalise a hamper, Mrs O’Halloran suggested making contact prior to February 14.

A chocolate hamper for the sweet tooth is a tasty alternative with chocolates sourced locally from Kerang and complemented by an assortment of flowers, candles and other delights to get the senses aroused.

Mrs O’Halloran said deliveries would occur the day before and the day of Valentine’s Day, and added “the day after too for those who forget”.

While Valentine’s Day is a big trading day for the florist, Mrs O’Halloran pointed out that her store serviced the community’s floral needs all year round.

“We are constantly catering to other occasions throughout the entire year, and it would be wonderful if people could support their local florists all year round as well,” she said.
