Region booms with food and wine fest

PIONEER Settlement was bustling with over 2000 patrons enjoying food, wine and sunshine at the Swan Hill Regional Food & Wine Festival on the riverbank on Saturday afternoon.

People were on their feet enjoying the music and settled on picnic blankets in the shade to tuck into the goods on offer from regional vendors.

The headline act, Australian music icon Shannon Noll electrified the crowd playing new and classic hits.

Swan Hill Incorporated business development manager Stephen Colombo was delighted with the festival.

“The weather was perfect, the vibes were just amazing and it was just an afternoon of relaxed fun,” he said.

Mr Colombo said the attendance matched previous records, with people travelling from out of region and out of state.

“These events are going gangbusters and the whole town benefits from the flow-on effect in accommodation and hospitality,” he said.

“Adding the market and Dine & Find on Sunday made the trip to Swan Hill worth it for a whole weekend of entertainment and experiencing the best our town has to offer.”
